wood, graphite, cement
This sculpture continues Salehian’s recent work where sculpting the direct likeness of things, as duplicate or portrait is a form of meeting, a slippage between the 'thing in itself' and an instrument to think with connecting to the larger predicament of being in the world. This work is a 1:1 maquette.
Tamsin Salehian works across mediums to explore social and environmental processes. Tamsin exhibits in Australia and overseas often with land/ecologic site based or ephemeral installations and is a lecturer at University of Technology, Sydney.
