Les Sculptures Refusées exhibited sculpture at Quarantine Station (QStation) from 2020-2024.
LS Inc. would like to thank Q Station for the support and hospitality shown to our organisation over the past years. The site has provided a remarkable and unique setting for artists to exhibit their work. We would also like to thank NSW NPWS and Heritage NSW.
The exhibitions, residencies and events we have delivered would not have been possible without the opportunities afforded to us by Q Station and its staff. After careful consideration, we have decided to conclude our formal relationship with Q Station and will not be pursuing future exhibitions at the site under the current arrangement. This decision reflects the practical realities faced by a small, unfunded, volunteer-led organisation. The various approval processes, governance requirements and operational complexities associated with delivering exhibitions at the site have become increasingly difficult for our volunteer committee to sustain. We remain extremely grateful for the opportunities Q Station has provided and for the positive relationship we have enjoyed. We are proud of what was achieved together and appreciate the support shown to both the organisation and the artists we have worked with. We wish Q Station every success in the future and hope our paths cross again.
We are proud of what has been achieved and open-minded about what the future may hold. Whether that involves a different venue, a different model, or a different form of artistic engagement remains to be seen. As one opportunity closes, others can open!
